Plans let you compare different financial futures side by side, so you can make better decisions about big life choices.
What is a plan?
A plan is a version of your financial projection with its own set of life events. Every account starts with a default plan. On the Pro tier, you can create additional plans to explore different scenarios.
For example:
- Base plan: your current trajectory with no major changes
- Buy a house in 2027: same as base, plus a property purchase event
- Career change plan: same as base, but with a salary increase from 2028
- Early retirement: what if you retired at 50 instead of 65?
Creating a new plan
- Open Projections from the sidebar.
- Click the Plans tab.
- Click + Add Plan.
- Give your plan a name.
- Add life events that are specific to this scenario.
How plans interact with global events
Every plan automatically includes your global life events — the things you're planning to do regardless of scenario. Plan-specific events are layered on top.
This means you don't need to duplicate your real plans into each scenario. Just add the "what-if" events to each plan.
Comparing plans
Switch between plans using the tab bar in the projections view. The chart updates to show the projection for the selected plan, including its specific life events. Pro users can also open the Compare sheet to see two plans side by side, including the dollar gap between them at each year.
Tip: Name your plans clearly. "Buy apartment Surry Hills 2027" is more useful than "Plan 2" when you come back to it in a few months.
